About Us

“Had a blast playing my old favourites and enjoyed some new experiences on computers I didn’t know existed.”

The Retro Collective is a vintage technology community hosting interactive museums and exhibition spaces based in Chalford, just outside Stroud in the heart of the Cotswolds in the UK.

We currently host two museums, The Cave and Arcade Archive, and you can read more about each of them in the Venues section of the website.

Our museum venues span two floors of Belvedere Mill, a beautiful 18th century Grade II-listed building that has produced grain, cloth and motorcars over the centuries. We share our home with Heber, a leading designer and manufacturer of electronics.

Our goal is to unite vintage technology enthusiasts who are passionate about preserving and sharing electronics, gaming and entertainment history with a hands-on approach. This includes home microcomputers, coin-operated arcades, consoles, handheld gaming and more.

We are looking to accommodate more like-minded ventures in the mill, as well as ancillary services such as a café or makerspace. If you are interested in creating and managing a space at the Retro Collective, please contact us.
